LOD 090 - The Legion of Dudes - Iron Man 2 Movie Review
Join JohnnyM, Ken, Russ, Jim 1.0 and new full time Dude Jordan as we discuss the lovefest that is Iron Man 2. We talk about what we enjoyed some minor nit picks and even discuss Marvel movies to come in the Avengersverse.
LOD 141 The Legion of Dudes - Thor Movie Extravaganza
This week it's a full slate of Dudes as they review the Thor movie. We're also joined by special guest Brad Milyo from A Half Hour Wasted. Overall we loved the movie, are really excited about the upcoming Captain America and The Avengers next year. Kenneth Branagh delivered a solid film, with excellent casting, special effects, heart, and a killer sound design. Plus Ken and Jordan throw down on the relevance of Ang Lee's Hulk to the continuity of The Incredible Hulk. And Jim schools us all with his Pre-JMS Thor knowledge.
Then at the 1:45:00 mark we interview John Simons of Comicpalooza, a Comic Book and Media convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. John fills us in on all the details, festivities, artists, and celebrities who will be in attendance.
And here we are again. Out Now with Aaron and Abe, episode 8 - Thor.
In this episode, Abe and I discuss the Mighty Thor's debut blockbuster film. Of course, before getting to Thor, Abe and I bring out our regular discussion of some select movie trailers (Cowboys & Aliens and The Green Lantern). That is then followed by a quite lengthy discussion of Thor. As always we then delve into some fun and games, as Abe and I have some fun explaining and predicting box office totals, as well as have more fun with the William Fitchner Game and another round of "Cast This". I had a lot of fun with Abe during this episode, so despite our skills at this still developing and the audio quality being merely okay, I am grateful for whoever it is that keeps coming back for more. Additionally, you can e-mail us and shower us with hate mail or actual comments that we would love to hear at: outnow.aaronabe@gmail.com. Two special things to take note of: - Following the outro music of the podcast, listen a little more if you want to hear some bonus, slightly spoilery, Thor talk. Now, as always, if you've got an hour to kill, enjoy the podcast:
Out Now Ep.19 - Captain America: The First Avenger and SDCC
Out Now with Aaron and Abe – Episode 19: Captain America: The First Avenger and San Diego Comic Con 2011
Greetings True Believers! And welcome to episode 19 of Out Now with Aaron and Abe, the episode that marks the transition into iTunes! This week, as the title suggests, our heroes discuss Captain America: The First Avenger. The arrival of this latest Marvel adventure could not have come at a greater time, as the episode was literally recorded hours after Aaron has returned from a five-day long trip to San Diego for Comic Con, which is also discussed at length in place of games for this week. To help Aaron and Abe discuss both the film and Comic Con, the special guest for the week is the creator/writer/editor of Why So Blu, Brian White. The regular segments of the show continue as well, beginning with some fun times getting to know our guest (which includes talk of Brian’s upcoming film, Amy), followed by trailer talk, wherein the group discusses trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man and Hugo. The rest of the show does feature box office results and predictions, a retro review segment as well, but is then followed by a lengthy discussion of all things Comic Con.
Of course, in addition to this episode, there are many more episodes to be found on iTunes, as well as on the new hosted site The HHWLOD Podcast Network, and outnow.podomatic.com. One can also learn more at the official Facebook page for Out Now, facebook.com/outnowpodcast (“like” it), which also features updates from Aaron and Abe’s personal blogs and other frequent posts, as well as a brand new logo for the show, in many different flavors!
Finally, feel free to e-mail the show at outnowpodcast@gmail.com with any sort of feedback.
