The Show

Banded together from remote galaxies are seven of the most sinister podcasters of all-time, the Legion of Dudes, dedicated to a single objective - the conquest of the universe!

The Legion of Dudes Podcast boasts a five member roster of comic, movie, television, and gaming devotees. With a keen eye for analysis and review, the podcast’s episode schedule follows a rotation. Episodes types include:

  • In depth analysis of comics including collections, original graphic novels, current story arcs and single issues.
  • Round table discussion about all things pop culture including movies, television and video games.
  • Daredevil talk on our spin off Speak of the Devil podcast.

Through the Half Hour Wasted message boards, members originally started e-mailing each other about possible ideas for a new concept-oriented podcast. This, coupled with Russell Latham's idea to begin a Watchmen series of shows sparked the HHW community in beginning our first project, A Half Hour Wasted Presents: Who Reads the Watchmen? The response for the 13 show series was so strong that other projects were planned, and The Legion of Dudes was born.

Over the last two years, the LOD have recorded hundreds of episodes that have included some fantastic guests from the world of comics and pop culture including Dave Gibbons, Daniel Way, Clay Enos, Robert Kirkman, Jonathan Hickman, John Jackson Miller, Robert Atkins and many more.  We have also covered major comic events such as Blackest Night, Captain America Reborn and Siege.

The current roster includes Jim Dietz, Russell Latham, Ken Morgan, Johnny M, Jordan From Jersey and Dan Ashlin.

Jim Dietz, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Jim Dietz is the last of an ancient alien race of curmudgeons. His cynicism, wealth of trivial knowledge and infinite patience are his only superhuman abilities. After getting a degree in creative writing, travelling the country as a performance poet, and slaying his own personal demons by sheer dint of his own will, he decided to put his one God-given talent (cooking) to good use.

He opened Gypsy Cafe in Pittsburgh in 2004 with another being of infinite patience, his wife, Melanie. The two of them currently live in Plum Boro with their cats Danny Nuggets and Mookie Jones. Jim collects episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000, comics, toys, cartoons and video games, and custom showgirls from the '70s. He has probably seen Star Wars more times than you and definitely has a thicker head of hair than you could possibly imagine.

Russell Latham, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Russ lives in rural south central Texas on 20 sprawling acres. In his spare time he volunteers for two fire departments.  An avid comic collector for over 25 years, his pride and joy is his run of Uncanny X-Men that is about 90% complete, starting from issue #141 to present day.  He has an insane addiction to monthly comics and his collection is over 5,000+ books and counting.  His love of comics is second only to his love for the Chicago Cubs which he hopes to see win a World Series before he dies.  Russell one day aspires to increase his Blu-ray collection to Johnny M proportions.

Favorites X-Men, Star Wars, Quantum Leap, Lost, Heroes, Stargate Atlantis & SG-1, Battlestar Galactica

Johnny M., This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

John is the group's resident obsessive/compulsive personality. His habits include comics, sports, movies, technology, hating the Mets, gadgets, video games, baseball memorabilia, trading cards and incessantly e-mailing the other Dudes.

Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, John brings a certain East Coast flair to the group, which has been referred at times as, "rude and "standoffish." When John is not struggling to keep his language clean for podcast recording, he spends his time looking for import Blu-rays and studying baseball statistics.  Between hobbies, he works as a teacher and high school baseball coach.  He even finds time to enjoy his wonderful family.

Ken Morgan, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Ken lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania with his wife and two great kids.  A fan of comics and movies all his life, it was only in the last six years that he really began reading comics as a major part of his leisure activity.  He credits Green Lantern: Rebirth as getting him back in; it served as the gateway to the greater DC Universe.  When not working with the Legion of Dudes, Ken can be found as the co-host of the podcast, Too Old to Grow Up!.

Favorites Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Geoff Johns, Star Wars (all of them), The Matrix (yes, all of them), Lord of the Rings

JordanFromJersey lives, of course, in New Jersey. He has been creating video reviews for his weekly comic run since June 2009 and LOST video reviews since the beginning of season 6. Jordan is in Law School, which leaves him with very little free time, but what little he has he spends playing the drums, monkeying around online, and reading comics.

If you want to discuss LOST, comics, music, movies, television, or Star Wars; Jordan is your man.  If you want to discuss politics, sports, or religion... do so with someone else... please.

Dan Ashlin,  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Not much is known about Mr. Ashlin (if that is his real name!) as he remains an enigma that falls like a sinister mist across the tri-county area in south central Pennsylvania. It was once thought that he was a lowly graphic designer with an unhealthy habit for all things comic book.

Alas, he disappeared suddenly in the night, leaving only a tome written in some strange tongue, a cloth pouch containing some type of preserved organs (possibly from some small animal), an assortment of tallow candles, a sharp but tarnished dagger, and a coffee mug with batman on it that, when bathed in moonlight, seethes with unholy energies!
