HACK/SLASH RETURNS WITH “SON OF SAMHAIN" @ImageComics

Collection of new story arc for a horror favorite out in January

After Cassie Hack was the lone survivor of the killing spree of a slasher nicknamed “The Lunch Lady” — who was also Cassie’s mother — she committed her life to hunting down killers and supernatural evil. She thought she left that life behind, but in HACK/SLASH: SON OF SAMHAIN, she’s drawn back into the slasher-fighting life when a cult of monsters plot to unleash an ancient evil on the world. With the help of a new partner, Cassie must confront a darkness like she’s never encountered before — and the darkness in her own life.

Created by Tim Seeley, the popular HACK/SLASH series debuted in 2004. The newest chapter of Cassie’s life, SON OF SAMHAIN, written by Michael Moreci (ROCHE LIMIT, HOAX HUNTERS) and Steve Seeley (HOAX HUNTERS) and drawn by Emilio Laiso (3 Guns), will appeal to long-time fans as well as readers just jumping on the series.

“We pick up a few years after the final arc of Tim's series,” Moreci explained in aninterview at Comic Book Resources. “A lot has changed for Cassie, and we're going to see her in a whole new way. She's older here, more mature, and her life is shaded by everything she went through and what's happened to her in the intervening years.”

HACK/SLASH: SON OF SAMHAIN Volume 1 will be in comic book stores onJanuary 14 and in bookstores on January 27. It is available for pre-order now.

Praise for High Crimes:

It’s a high concept executed with precision, delivering real-world intrigue.”—The Onion’s A.V. Club

“Every once in a while you come across a comic that comes out of nowhere. That just reaches up and says, ‘Holy crap, you need to pay attention to this book and its creators.’ So far, in 2013, that list has one name on it and it’s High Crimes.”—Multiversity

“High Crimes might be the best thriller in comics today.”—Newsarama

“Solid characters matched to a top location twisted with a fantastic narrative hook. Not one element of this book is left to rest on its laurels. Sebela and Moustafa ensure everything has a deceptive shadow or drastic turn in it. You can’t predict where this book will go.”—Comic Book Resources

Walter Simonson’s Complete Star Slammers @IDWPublishing

Signed Signature Plate By Simonson Included
In Entire First Printing For Free!

San Diego, CA (December 5, 2014) – Walter Simonson is one of the most acclaimed creators working in comics today. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Simonson co-created Manhunter, drew the New York Times best-selling Alien graphic novel (both in collaboration with Archie Goodwin), wrote and drew a much-lauded four-year run on The Mighty Thor, and is currently re-inventing Norse-mythology in the pages of Ragnarök here at IDW. And then there was Star Slammers.

Star Slammers was first published as a Marvel Graphic Novel in 1983 and then as a five-issue mini-series that detailed the adventures of the greatest group of mercenaries the galaxy has ever known—they could out-shoot, out-fight and out-kill anybody, and became the most successful businessmen in history.

Now, IDW Publishing is pleased to announce Star Slammers: The Complete Collection by Walter Simonson. Collecting the graphic novel and mini-series, as well as short stories, covers, and pin-ups. And, for the first time ever, this volume will print the orginial version of Star Slammers—produced by Simonson as a class project at the Rhode Island School of Design a year before he became a professional comics creator. More than 60 pages of never-before-seen work, a treasure-trove for any Walter Simonson fan.

As a very special bonus, every copy of the first printing of Star Slammers will have a bound in signature plate, each signed by Simonson in his trademark “dinosaur” signature, and at no extra cost. Look for this special collection to hit shelves in February!
