Out Now Bonus: Horror Special 4 - The 80s

We are just having a blast putting these horror specials together, even if we don’t have nearly enough time to put in all the work we want to on these discussions of various decades of horror films. That being said, this week’s special has Aaron, Brandon, and Jimmy O talking for a long time about the 80s. Lots of early discussion about where horror was at this time, especially given the rise of slasher films, before going into a year by year breakdown of many of the most notable films from each year in the 80s. Clearly there is a lot of love for this decade from Brandon and Jimmy, who relish in a chance to go into some underpraised and underseen gems (and it is unfortunate that Jason was not able to participate). With all that in mind, slashers, dream demons, werewolves, gore, possession and plenty more is all gone over in this week’s fun bonus special.

So it begins! Thanks to some prodding by Joblo.com’s Jimmy O, we were inspired to do something special with the podcast for the month of October. For this first week, Aaron is joined by Naptown Nerd’s Brandon Peters and Starpulse’s Jason Colman to discuss horror films up to the 1940s. This of course revolves around the silent film era, the early days of Universal’s Monster Movies, famed horror legends from that time, the many sequels and remakes that came during that time, and more. We sort of jumped in head first on this podcast concept and ended up having a lot of fun the first time around, so we hope you enjoy and stay tuned for next week’s episode: Hammer, Sci-Fi & Price in 3-D!

So here is another special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe, which is incredibly straightforward, given the nature of the main film being discussed. Aaron is joined by guests Mark Hobin, Adam Gentry, and Maxwell Haddad to discuss the absurdest French fantasy/drama Holy Motors. This is what the entire episode consists of. It is a pure review show, with no other segments and it does go in depth about the film, meaning that people who have not seen Holy Motors will have the potential to be spoiled on the film, were they to listen to this conversation. That said, if you have heard of the film and are at least intrigued by it, feel free to give this episode a whirl I guess. Commentary, another Out Now Commentary. For the final (for now) in our series of James Bond movie commentaries, Aaron is joined by Scott Mendelson and Brandon Peters to discuss Quantum of Solace. A well timed commentary, as Skyfall is just days away from release, this track goes over the pros and cons of the second Daniel Craig entry, which was met with mixed reactions at the time. Fortunately, the participants are on both sides of this one and discuss the film in full, along with interjecting plenty of wild tangents along the way. Once again, Bond fans should rejoice with this one, as well as those who just like a good conversation about movies.

Out Now 79 - Cloud Atlas

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe shows all of the ‘Outies’ that everything is indeed connected, as the boys review Cloud Atlas, with guests Adam Gentry and Alex Billington from Firstshowing.net. It is certainly a full review, as the gang really delves into the film, but word of warning, there are some big spoilers in this review. Plenty of time for the other regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Iron Man 3 and Evil Dead), “Movie Call Back”, “Out Now Quickies”, Box Office Talk, and of course Games. It is a full episode, complete with everyone playing multiple roles, so feel free to find all the connections you can.

Out Now 78 - Sinister and Paranormal Activity 4

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is our 2012 spookathon…or something. Whatever, this is what constitutes a horror episode for the year, as Aaron, Abe, and guests Maxwell Haddad and Alan Aguilera gather to discuss the two big horror releases of October 2012 – Sinister and Paranormal Activity 4. And while this is a double movie review episode, the gang still has time to get through the other segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Texas Chainsaw 3D and Carrie), “Movie Call Back”, “Out Now Quickies”, Box Office Talk, and of course games. The guys may be talking about scary flicks, but this is all still about having a fun time.

Out Now Bonus - Moonraker Audio Commentary

Another commentary for Out Now with Aaron and Abe. This time the guys are talking about the 11th James Bond film and one of the most underrated, Moonraker. They figured that with Skyfall approaching soon, talking Bond films would be fun, especially with the presence of Scott Mendelson and a man Aaron and Abe consider a pretty well-spoken Bond enthusiast, Brandon Peters. Abe sits this one out, but the rest of the group goes through a lengthy discussion while watching the film, which can be synched up for those who would want to watch along, but for everyone in general, this commentary track is just a strong source of fun banter revolving around this film and Bond in general. So enjoy.

Out Now 73 - The Master

This episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the first of two recorded back to back this week. The main topic is a lengthy review of The Master, which Aaron, Abe, and guests Mark Johnson and Mark Hobin, are happy to all participate in. The film has certainly built up a lot of hype behind it from the filmlover crowd, so now it has come time to try to apply some sort of analysis to it. That said, this is still an Out Now episode complete with the regular segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Lincoln and The Hobbit), “Movie Call Back”, “Out Now Quickies™”, Box Office, and of course Games. It’s a backed show with lots to process.

Out Now Bonus - From Russia With Love Audio Commentary

Another commentary for Out Now with Aaron and Abe. This time the guys are talking about the 2nd James Bond film and one of the best, From Russia With Love. They figured that with Skyfall approaching soon, talking Bond films would be fun, especially with the presence of Scott Mendelson and a man Aaron and Abe consider a pretty well-spoken Bond enthusiast, Brandon Peters. The group goes through a lengthy discussion while watching the film, which can be synched up for those who would want to watch along, but for everyone in general, this commentary track is just a strong source of fun banter revolving around this film and Bond in general. Out Now Bonus - The Adventures of Indiana Jones

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is another bonus episode. This time, Aaron, Abe, and guests Alan Aguilera and Jordan Grout, along with newest guest Gregg Knox, spend time evaluating the complete adventures of Indiana Jones, in honor of the Blu-ray set released this week. The group discusses every film individually, while of course approaching where they stack up in the series as a whole, along with memorable moments, and other things about the series in general. Not many of the regular segments this week, aside from everyone’s favorite, “Know Everybody,” but there’s certainly no time for love Dr. Jones, because these guys are on a constant stream of thought regarding everyone’s favorite professor/adventurer.

Out Now Bonus - Judge Dredd Audio Commentary

Here we go with another bonus commentary. This time, inspired both by the upcoming release of Dredd 3D and the enthusiasm of guest Jordan Grout, Aaron, Abe, along with Jordan and commentary favorite Jim Dietz, decided that the 1995 Judge Dredd was a perfectly good choice for a movie that Out Now could discuss at feature length. As always, these commentaries are recorded to match up with the film, which the gang is sure to synch up in the opening, before things get underway. Whether or not the listener decides to listen to the commentary with or without the movie playing in the background is a choice that they’ll have to make for themselves.

Out Now 72 - V/H/S and the [REC] Series

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a found footage horror special. Aaron and Abe, along with special guest Gerard Iribe, have decided to talk about the Spanish horror film [REC] and its subsequent sequels, along with the newest horror anthology film, V/H/S. All of these features are shot in the found footage format, which is a good enough throughline. Regardless, it is a quadruple movie review episode, which seems like plenty for listeners. Of course, it is not plenty for the group, given that they still have all of the regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and The Bay), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results, Games, and other fun. So that seems like a lot, but the guys like to deliver.

Out Now Bonus - 1st Annual Top Summer Movies Gamble – RESULTS!

This special episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is our epic result show. Aaron, Abe, and guests Alan Aguilera, Mark Hobin, and Adam Gentry were tasked with making a big wager back in May. The 1st Annual Top Summer Movies Gamble, where everyone had made a list of what films they thought would be the top ten biggest box office successes of the summer, has now come to a close. Each participant had created their own list (and added a few dark horses as well) and the podcast once again lays out the rules and how scoring will work, followed by the results as to who came out on top overall. In addition, everyone also goes over all of their biggest hits and misses as far as the summer films were concerned. Hilarious hijinks, of course, ensue, as well as the name of our ultimate winner for this awesome challenge.

It’s another commentary and it’s a good one. Out Now with Aaron and Abe is happy to present a commentary focused on the 1994 classic, Street Fighter, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia. Aaron and Abe are joined by Alan Aguilera and Jordan Grout, as well as Street Fighter Video Game technical expert Ken Noffsinger, who all impart some thoughts and knowledge in regards to the film adaptation, which we all know and love. As always, these commentaries seem to be fun whether or not you are actually watching the movie, so feel free to get our thoughts and be entertained, regardless of the setting.

Out Now 71 - Lawless

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe takes a look at the wettest county in the world, as Aaron, Abe, and special guests Alan Aguilera and Mark Johnson discuss the film Lawless. Find out if we thought this Bootlegging Period-Drama had enough to keep us entertained. Also check out the episode for all of the usual segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Seven Psychopaths, Trouble with the Curve), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results, Games, and a brand new segment called “Out Now Quickies”. Out Now Bonus - August Free-For-All

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is more or less a Free-for-All. Basically, given the time period (end of summer doldrums), we decided that not one movie necessarily needed a full episode devoted to it; so instead, we decided to talk about a multitude of flicks, with special guests Mark Hobin, Jordan Grout, and Markus Robinson, to share their thoughts as well. Aaron, Abe, and the gang, dig into Expendables 2, Premium Rush, Killer Joe, the films of Tony Scott, and much more. What started out as a simple idea for an episode regarding what we have watched, only went on to become almost a couple hours of good times, fun talks, and bitter arguments. #Phrasing.

The group goes into whether or not this all-ages fright fest is good enough to say “See It” to, as well as have plenty of fun with the regular segments of the show; which includes “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (The Rise of the Guardians and The Last Stand), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results and Predictions, and a game that is pretty wild and involves team work. Out Now 68 - Total Recall

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is maybe the end of an era. Aaron and Abe have enjoyed the presence of guests Jordan Grout and Alan Aguilera on the same episodes, in the past, but this Total Recall-themed episode was almost too ridiculous, questioning whether they can have those two on at the same time ever again. That said, yes, Total Recall is the main review this week, but there is also plenty of discussion during the other segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Skyfall, Killing Them Softly, The Dark Knight Returns Part 1), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results and Predictions, and of course Games. It is an in-depth episode, with plenty of shenanigans going on, as well as lots of geeky film discussion.

Out Now Bonus - Audio Commentary for All Step Up Movies In One

It’s another commentary, but a historical one! The most important thing to note about this episode is that four of us watched all three Step Up movies simultaneously and recorded a commentary that can go along side any of them. So basically anyone can choose whichever Step Up movie and use this commentary to help supplement it. This is a first in podcasting and commentary history, I believe, so feel free to embrace it. Aaron is joined by Alan Aguilera (watching Step Up), Jordan Grout (watching Step Up 2 The Streets), and Ken Noffsinger (watching Step Up 3D with Aaron) to talk about each film, at the same time. Frankly, this was an amazing idea, very difficult to record, but completely worth it to give anyone the opportunity to watch any of the Step Up movies and have a jokey commentary for it.

Out Now 67 - Step Up Revolution

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is an ease back from the past week that was full of multiple guests and discussions about one of the biggest movies of the year and a switchover to a discussion about the latest in the “World’s biggest dance movie franchise.” Comedian Christian Spicer guests with Aaron and Abe to discuss Step Up Revolution and provides maybe the most in-depth, movie podcast film review about it. The other segments are present as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Cloud Atlas and Life of Pi), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results, and of course Games. We may be past The Dark Knight Rises (for now), but at least we have kept up our sense of humor.

Out Now Bonus - A Spoiler-Filled Discussion of The Dark Knight Rises

This special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a continuation of The Dark Knight Rises episode. While the first episode was all about reviewing Batman’s latest adventures, while staying spoiler-free, this episode features a spoiler-filled discussion about the film. There is some quick talk about The Dark Knight Rises’ box office totals, but after that, the rest of the show is dedicated to The Dark Knight Rises and everything about it. Aaron (and Abe, eventually) is joined by guests Scott Mendelson, Jordan Grout, Alan Aguilera, and Adam Gentry. Differing viewpoints certainly lead to some spirited conversing, but overall, everyone just wants to pick apart (in positive and negative ways) the most anticipated film of the year.

Out Now 66 - The Dark Knight Rises

This week’s episode is only ‘Part 1’ of a large conversation. The Dark Knight Rises has been hotly anticipated by pretty much everyone, which of course includes Aaron, Abe, and guests Mark Hobin and Adam Gentry. While this is a regular episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe, the review for The Dark Knight Rises is a spoiler-free one, which serves as Part 1, because a longer, spoiler-filled discussion will be soon released as well. Still, the gang does discuss the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, along with delving into the regular segments, which includes “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Man of Steel and Oz: The Great and Powerful), “Movie Call Back”, games, and other fun. It may just be Part 1, but it’s definitely a big big movie episode.

Out Now Bonus - Batman Forever Audio Commentary

Out Now with Aaron and Abe always loves delivering bonus episodes and now they are dealing out an audio commentary for Batman Forever. I guess the logic was that at least one Batman film needed to be talked about, so why not the third in the former franchise, before everyone goes out to see the third in the Nolan franchise. So that’s what occurred. Aaron is joined by commentary regulars Jim Dietz, Jordan Grout, and Scott Mendelson, for another packed audio track to accompany anyone that wants to relive the Val Kilmer-Joel Schumacher Collaboration that occurred back in the summer of 1995. A lot is discussed and there’s a lot to enjoy, so please do.

Out Now Bonus - Comic Con 2012 Recap

The special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is all about San Diego Comic Con. Aaron was in attendance for all five days along with frequent guest and friend of the show Alan Aguilera. The two of them are both present for this episode, talking at length about what happened mainly in regards to the big movie panels that occurred within the always incredibly packed Hall H. Both Aaron and Alan share their experiences within the hall and talk about the footage seen and what went on with the panel participants. The two also talk about some of their favorite experiences and sights seen at this year’s Comic Con. It is a lengthier discussion than anticipated, but certainly packed with info.

Out Now 65 - Beasts of the Southern Wild

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe could have easily been a disaster, much like the region that the characters in the main film of the week live in. Instead, despite a tired co-host and not as much prep as is usually done to make the show feel seamless (although Abe is a damn good editor), Aaron, Abe, and guest Mark Hobin were all able to successfully review Beasts of the Southern Wild, as well as speak of several of the more recent art house and independent films that have come out. The guys of course get into the regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Anna Karenina, and The Master), “Movie Call Back”, and Box Office Talk. While ‘Beasts’ may not be a widely seen film as of now, hopefully enough people will check it out based on what the group has to say about it.

It is an episode full of thoughts from all involved and also brings on the regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Dredd 3D and The Man with the Iron Fists), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office results and predictions, games (Celebrity Tweets returns!), and other fun. Aaron and Abe also have a mini review of Savages, recorded later in the day, put towards the end of the episode, along with a more spoiler-y section in regards to Spider-Man. Regardless, Aaron and Abe are joined by guests Jordan Grout and Jose Cordova, as the group discusses Ted and Magic Mike. Additionally, the regular segments are here as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Taken 2, Hotel Transylvania, and Here Comes the Boom), “Movie Call Back”, Box Office results and predictions, and of course Games (the return of an old game, in fact). Plenty was gone over in this episode, matching last week’s excess of content, but with more male nudity this time.

Out Now Bonus - Spider-Man 2 Audio Commentary

Out Now with Aaron and Abe knocks out two in one week. Here’s another commentary for Spider-Man 2. Aaron and Jim Dietz return and ditch Scott “Motor Mouth” Mendelson for Jordan “Arachnid Boy” Grout. The trio goes into it, as they try to stay focused talking about the web-head’s fantastic sequel, while also bringing up plenty of other superhero films as well. Not for nothing, but opinions about Mary Jane run amok as well. Anyone that does end up checking this out, feel free to right in as well. It’s fun doing these commentaries and if anyone has a suggestion, we are more than welcome to hear it.

Out Now 62 - Brave and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe answers a very simple question: what do Brave and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter have in common? Besides the graphic nudity seen in both, it is the fact that they are the subject of this week’s episode. Featuring guests Mark Hobin, Maxwell Haddad, and Markus Robinson, Aaron and Abe get plenty to discuss involving these films, as well as the regular segments – “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Monster’s University and Wreck-It Ralph), “Movie Call Back”, games, and other good stuff. Plus, we announce another contest that is very simple to enter.

Aaron and Abe are joined by guests Liz Manashil and Leah Ducey to discuss said film, as well as provide plenty of discussion in the form of (sort of) entertaining, film-related banter. The other normal segments are intact as well, including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Sinister and The Watch), “Movie Callback”, Box Office results, games, and other fun. There is always a lot going on in these episodes, but Aaron and Abe definitely prove once and for all what kind of birds they in fact are. Regular segments of course as well. “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Django Unchained and Flight), Box Office Results, “Movie Call Back”, and some fun games to enjoy. Out Now Bonus - Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem

Whoever wins, we lose…again. So they did it, this bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is another commentary for another bad movie. In honor of the release of Prometheus, this time Abe, Aaron, and special guests Jordan Grout and Jim Dietz all got together and watched Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, while delivering as much fun possible in the form of audio entertainment. Again, one may not even need to watch the film in order to enjoy listening to a podcast episode like this, but if one has the desire to do so, feel free, as the group discusses all that they can about this never-to-be cult classic and other things as well, since it sometimes becomes hard to stay on topic when dealing with AVP: R. Lastly, there is a very easy giveaway contest detailed in this episode as well.

Then it does become time to really delve into the main features, followed by “Movie Call Back”, Box Office Results, and some games. But that’s not all. While I cannot pinpoint the exact moment Aaron, Abe, Jordan Grout, and Alan Aguilera all realized that they were dying to see Battleship, the time has finally arrived for them to review it. The results are…interesting. Aside from that, the boys also have fun with all the regular segments, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (Argo and This is 40), Box Office Talk, “Movie Callback”, and some new games! Which includes one that is entirely not true. Adam Gentry (and, briefly, a very special guest) join Aaron and Abe to discuss the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film, Dark Shadows, a theatrical remake of the old TV series of the same name. Is this strangely fitting for a Mother’s Day episode? Maybe. Still, the gang does get a chance to go over a couple new trailers (Gangster Squad and The Campaign), as well as participate in the regular segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Movie Callback”, Box Office results, and the return of one of the older games. Out Now 55 - The Avengers

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is an assembly of several voices who have come together in an effort to talk about one of the biggest movie events of the year, The Avengers. Aaron and Abe are joined by Why So Blu’s Brian White and Sean Ferguson, as well as Fast Film Review’s Mark Hobin, and this entire group does in fact go into a lengthy discussion about this Superhero Cinematic Opus. There are of course the regular segments as well; including “Know Everybody”, “Trailer Talk” (Expendables 2 and The Dark Knight Rises), “Box Office Results”, “Movie Call-Back”, and then some spoiler talk at the very end of the episode. This is certainly one super-powered episode.

So now, if you’ve got an hour to kill…

Out Now 54 - The Pirates! Band of Misfits and The Raven

This week’s double movie review episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features the arrival of our newest guest, Matt Goodman. Matt joins Aaron and Abe in talk about just how much endearing fun The Pirates! A Band of Misfits has to offer, before Aaron and Abe then settle in to discuss how bland and bad The Raven is. The regular segments are back this week as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (The House at the End of the Street and Magic Mike), “Movie Call Back”, box office results and predictions, and of course games. We also announce the contest winner for our Cabin in the Woods T-shirt Contest and that the very end of the episode, Abe wrestles a bear!

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Bonus Episode – Audio Commentary for The Incredible Hulk

Time for another Bonus Commentary Episode! With The Avengers coming out in the very near future, Aaron and Abe decided to record another special bonus episode that relates to this very ambitious comic book film event. The Incredible Hulk was the film the group all decided to do a commentary for, which leads to Aaron, Abe, and guests Jordan Grout and Jim Dietz discussing the various positives and negatives about all the Avengers ‘prequels’ in general, as well as the Ang Lee version of Hulk. Of course, there is always plenty of random banter going on throughout are the wacky Out Now commentaries as well, so if you’re a trooper, have fun settling in and listening to this, with or without the movie playing at the same time.

Out Now Ep. 53 - Cabin in the Woods and Lockout

The best thing about this lengthy episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the high amount of energy that Abe, Aaron, and special guest Scott Mendelson have in delving into all the various films that they mention and in particular the two films subject to review for this week. The trio get into Lockout (Space Jail), move onto spoiler-free talk about Cabin in the Woods, and spend a whole extra chunk of time at the end of the episode diving into spoiler-heavy talk about Cabin in the Woods (alerts are given). The regular segments are here as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (Looper and Chernobyl Diaries), Movie Call Back, Box Office Talk, and more. The gang also lays out a New Contest in the spoiler section of the film, so stay tuned for that. It’s another packed episode and certainly fitting for those that saw Cabin in the Woods and want to hear an in-depth discussion on it.

Out Now Ep. 52 – The Raid: Redemption and American Reunion

He made the mistake of bringing a pie to a gun fight. This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features Aaron, Abe, and special guest Alan Aguilera piling tons of love hits on The Raid: Redemption. There is also talk about American Reunion, which was initially going to be some sparse thoughts, but turned into a full review. They also discuss trailers (Ted and Savages), along with box office results, other recommended films to check out, and get into regular segments like “Know Everybody”, while having lots of fun and games as well. A somewhat shorter show, but it is still packed with movie talking goodness.

Out Now Ep. 51 - Wrath of the Titans

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is another packed affair. The main review of the week is Wrath of the Titans and Aaron and Abe are joined by Laremy Legal to better discuss the epic-ish Greek action sequel. We also have the other segments. First up, there are plenty of announcements, including the winners of the contest, which was setup last week. The winner even provided us a question that is answered on the show. We then have “Know Everybody”, trailer talk (Total Recall and The Raven), box office results, “Instead or Because of”, games, and plenty of other fun. Lots to get done, but at least we recorded while riding on a winged Pegasus.

Out Now Bonus – The Kid with a Bike, Bully, and More!

This special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is missing an Abe, but does have an Aaron, and he is joined by Adam Gentry and Mark Hobin to discuss a couple of the recent Art House, Foreign, and Independent films that have been in theaters. A few different films are discussed, but special emphasis is placed on The Kid with a Bike, Bully, and A Separation. This is much more a free form show, as the trio simply discusses several films and forgoes having all of the regular show segments. That said, there is certainly plenty of content to check out.

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Bonus Episode – Audio Commentary for Clash of the Titans

Time for another Bonus Commentary Episode! For whatever reason, Aaron and Abe have decided to spend more time adding their thoughts over films that they felt like watching together, along with a couple guests – Jordan Grout and Jim Dietz. Say what you will about how much one learns during these commentaries, but at least they manage to have a good time watching the film, despite the many tangents they go on. Anyway, if you happen to have access to the original 1981 Clash of the Titans or feel like listening to random chatter about the movie, without actually watching it, here is one way to do so.

Out Now Ep. 50 - The Hunger Games

And here it is, Episode 50! This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is recorded in front of a live audience; voiced in color; presented in 3D (so I hope everyone has their special Out Now Glasses), full of surprises (including evil twins and crazy plot twists), and we announce a brand new contest (with a sweet prize). Also, someone will die at the end of the episode. Joining Aaron and Abe in this fun filled episode are Jordan Grout and Liz Manashil, who will be helping to review The Hunger Games. There is also the inclusion of all the favorite segments – “Know Everybody”, “Instead or Because Of”, “Trailer Talk” (we talk about a lot of trailers this time around), Box Office results, games, and some other fun stuff. As mentioned, this is our 50th episode, so listen up and pay attention for the various bits of banter, announcements made, and additional Easter eggs and bloopers.

Out Now Ep. 49 - 21 Jump Street and Casa De Mi Padre

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is actually subtitled during one of our reviews. Well that is not entirely true, but Aaron, Abe, and guest Gerard Iribe do take part in reviewing not one, but two comedies – 21 Jump Street, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, and Casa De Mi Padre, starring Will Ferrell. The regular segments follow as well, including “Know Everybody”, trailer talk (Dark Shadows and Prometheus), box office results, “Instead or Because of”, some games, as well as some brief discussion of WonderCon 2012, which Aaron was part of on the weekend of this recording. It’s another packed episode indeed.

2012-03-21 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 48 - John Carter

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe takes us to the fourth rock from the sun, as Aaron, Abe, and guests Scott Mendelson and Jordan Grout all take part in a fairly lengthy discussion of John Carter. Lots to talk about and the review certainly is hefty. Also lengthy are discussions of the trailers for Men in Black 3 and Finding Nemo 3D. The usual segments follow as well, including “Know Everybody”, box office results and predictions, deciding what to watch with “Instead or Because of”, and some games and other fun. Plenty of talk, plenty of tangents, and Jordan certainly has more to say about this film than Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds. And also stay tuned at the end to hear some slight spoiler talk as well.

2012-03-14 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 47 - The Lorax and The Secret World of Arrietty

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a double episode of family oriented fun. Aaron and Abe are joined by Just Seen It’s Liz Manashil and Leah Ducey (for basically an extended cameo, yeah!) to discuss a couple trailers (Piranha 3DD and Frankenweenie) and to review Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty. The group also has time for the other segments, including “Know Everybody”, “Instead Or Because Of”, box office results, and of games. Got a lot done, with plenty of things to cover, in wonderful animated detail.

Out Now Bonus – Oscar Results

This special bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is all about the Oscar results. Well that’s not entirely true, special guest Jordan Grout joins Aaron and Abe to discuss his thoughts on Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds (someone had to), but after that, the group then dives into what took place on Oscar night. Not a lot of frill to this episode, just enough to let everyone know how good or bad these guys were at predicting this year’s winners. And who doesn’t like getting bonus episodes?

2012-03-01 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 46 - Wanderlust and Oscar Predictions

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe has a review and an elongated segment devoted to what is now old news. Aaron, Abe, and special guests Mark Hobin and Mark Johnson spend time reviewing the Paul Rudd/Jennifer Aniston comedy Wanderlust. Later on, the group goes over their Oscar predictions for the Academy Awards (this was recorded the morning of). There will be a bonus episode that goes over the results, which should be released shortly after this episode. And the other segments are around as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (The Dictator and Casa De Mi Padre), and box office results. Were we to have planned better, we would have already released a predictions segment, but we’re not, so here it is anyway.

Out Now Ep. 45 - Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe finds the duo (along with guests Jordan Grout and Alan Aguilera) dealing with vengeance, as the rider has come to claim his souls. Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance is the main film review for this week and there’s nothing like a big dose of Cage Rage to get things going. Of course all of the regular segments are here as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Lockout), box office results, retro reviews, and there is even time for some games. This episode is hotter than a flaming skull.

Out Now Ep. 44 - Safe House

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe puts the gang on the run, after their secure location is raided by evil forces from the outside. Aaron, Abe, and guest Gerard Iribe are talking about the Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds action/thriller Safe House and also manage to save some time for a mini-review about the new, limited-release horror film from director Ti West, The Innkeepers. The group also manages to fit in the regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (The Amazing Spider-man and The Bourne Legacy), (epic) Box Office results, retro reviews, and some games. Hopefully the second house remained safe enough for these guys to record the whole thing.

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Bonus Episode – Audio Commentary for Ghost Rider

Yep, they did it. In what may be one of the worst episodes (or best) of Out Now with Aaron and Abe, the gang actually sat down and watched Ghost Rider to record a commentary for a bonus episode. Aaron and Abe are joined by guests Ken Noffsinger and Jordan Grout for what was more like an endurance round, as the gang sat back and “enjoyed” what was the Nic Cage-starring ‘soon-to-be-superhero classic’ Ghost Rider. Making things even better, Jordan was watching the extended cut, while the rest of us watched the theatrical, so plenty of fun in that respect. One probably doesn’t even need to actually watch Ghost Rider, while listening to this, but if you can find a copy (unfortunately it is not streaming on Netflix), or even if you don’t, you may be able to get some joy out of listening to this track.

Out Now Ep. 43 - Chronicle

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe finds four young men happening upon a bright light in the dead of night and experiencing something great. This is of course referring to the brightness of their computer monitors, as Aaron, Abe, and guests Jordan from Jersey and Alan Aguilera all share their thoughts on the super-powered “found footage” film Chronicle. Along with that, the gang discusses some movie trailers (Project X and Silent House), has some fun with “Know Everybody”, and follows through with the other regular segments as well, such as box office results, and the retro reviews. It’s a show recorded late at night, but everyone is more than game to play along, using telekinesis or otherwise…

Out Now Ep. 42 - The Grey

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe sees the boys stranded out in the cold and intense wilderness, as they are discussing the new Liam Neeson survival drama, The Grey. Joining the duo, also in from the cold and intense wilderness of Park City, Utah, is Adam Gentry, who unfortunately did not catch up with The Grey, but did get to attend both the Slamdance and the Sundance Film Festival. So Aaron and Abe cover The Grey, Adam talks about some of the films he got to see, and the trio have some fun with the other segments of the show as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk (Act of Valor and Wrath of the Titans), some retro reviews, box office results, and other fun stuff. Liam Neeson would be proud.

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Episode 41 - Haywire

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a bit of a quickie, despite going through all the fun segments and featuring two guests. Aaron and Abe are joined by (a very much alive) Jordan Grout and HHWLOD’s own Mr. Jim Dietz, as the group discusses the latest from Steven Soderbergh, Haywire. As mentioned, the gang goes forth with all the regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, trailer talk (Expendables 2 and GI JOE: Retaliation), box office results, retro reviews, and the return of games. The episode is a bit shorter than most, but it still is pretty packed.

2012-01-27 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 40 - War Horse

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the first official “regular” episode of 2012. Aaron and Abe are joined by Mark Hobin and Mark Johnson to discuss the Steven Spielberg period-family-drama, War Horse, as well as provide some thoughts on the 2012 Golden Globes (the episode was recorded the morning before the ceremony). Along with the film and the award show talk, the gang goes through the list of regular segments as well, including “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (Men In Black 3 and The Hunger Games), Retro Reviews, and other fun stuff. It is nice to be back to the regular episode format.

Out Now Final 2011 Bonus Episode – The Best Films of 2011

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is the final bonus episode related to the year of 2011. It is the much anticipated best films of 2011 where Aaron and Abe count down their top films of the year. Joining the duo in counting down their favorite films are Mark Hobin, Adam Gentry, and, eventually, Alan Aguilera. Regardless of the fact that some members of this group had a fundamentally different approach to what “Top 10” list means, everyone gets a chance to speak their peace about what they feel were the best films of 2011. There is plenty of discussion about these films, as well as some other films that deserved honorable mention, as well as some that fell into certain other categories. It’s a packed show yet again.

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Bonus Holiday Episode – The TV of 2011

Once again, Out Now with Aaron and Abe is delivering another bonus episode. With everyone so busy, yet apparently filled with ideas for episodes, the thought of doing an episode based around the TV shows of 2011 came up. With Abe sitting this one out, Aaron joins up with guest writer/reporter Jonathan Van Dyke to go over a large batch of notable television series, which were on during the year. The episode is divided into topics including new shows, shows that got better, shows that got worse, cancelled shows memorial, and best/favorite shows. It is an incredibly packed episode, which doesn’t even cover all of what Aaron and Jon wanted to talk about. Still, they guys give it their best shot and talk about a lot of quality TV programs.

Out Now Bonus Holiday Episode – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

So here is another special holiday bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe. This episode covers The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, with the first twenty minutes or so of the actual review going over the gang’s overall thoughts on the film; before they go heavy into spoilers (a warning is provided). While this episode actually doesn’t feature Abe (aww), Aaron does his best and is joined by Adam Gentry, Alan Aguilera, and for a brief time, a very, very special guest to discuss the “feel bad movie of Christmas”. The gang also discusses the new teaser for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and has some fun with the “Know Everybody” segment. But really, Dragon Tattoo becomes a fairly meaty discussion, given are unusual choice to delve into spoilers.

Out Now Bonus Holiday Episode - The Adventures of Tintin

Happy Holidays Everyone! Due to an obviously chaotic holiday season, this is the first of hopefully a couple hastily recorded bonus holiday episodes. The subject of this episode is the new Steven Spielberg-directed, Peter Jackson-produced motion-capture animated feature, The Adventures of Tintin. Aaron and Abe are joined by Jordan Grout (while driving in his car) to discuss the film, as well as play a little “Know Everybody”, talk about the brand new teaser for The Hobbit, have a little retro review fun, with a surprising amount of Indy 4-related talk, and play some games. Aaron talks really fast, Abe finds success, and Jordan is happy to be along for the ride in this fast-paced, packed bonus episode.

Out Now Ep. 39: Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is another packed episode. Amidst the holiday season, many many films are coming out, but Aaron and Abe are doing what they can to cover a good chunk of them. First up, the newest Mission: Impossible film and a sequel to Sherlock Holmes. Joining the duo to discuss these features are past guests Scott Mendelson and Jordan Grout. The group takes the time needed to get into reviewing these tentpole releases along with delving into The Dark Knight Rises prologue, which was exclusively attached to select IMAX screens showing Mission: Impossible. Other regular segments of the show are included as well; “know everybody”, “retro review”, and an extended look at the box office, given the skills Scott Mendelson possesses as a pundit. It is certainly a content-filled show, with plenty of fun to be had.

2011-12-22 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Bonus Episode – Audio Commentary for George A Romero’s Night of the Living Dead

This week’s bonus episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is an audio commentary. It is also a special combo episode, as Out Now is pitching in for its sister podcast show, The Walking Dead TV Podcast. Aaron and Abe have tried a commentary once before, so far, with John Carpenter’s The Thing, but now the duo joins up once again with Alan Aguilera and Jordan Grout to discuss George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, the zombie film that started it all, which is of course quite fitting for WDTV. Joining them as well is one of the co-hosts of WDTV, Jordan from Jersey. Night of the Living Dead is an incredibly easy movie to find (especially for free via the internet), so please try and enjoy yourselves, as the gang does what they can to entertain and speak about the movie.

Out Now Ep. 38 - The Artist

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is short on Abe but has Aaron and a couple other A’s (plus one M) to make it another Triple A episode! That’s right; Aaron, Alan Aguilera, Adam Gentry, and Mark Hobin all join in on the show this week to discuss the new silent film from director Michel Hazanavicius, The Artist. Lots of discussion about the film and tangents are within the main review section, but all the regular segments make their way into the episode as well. As always, the other segments include “Know Everybody”, Trailer Talk (The Three Stooges and Battleship), Box Office Results & Predictions, Retro Review, and Game Time.

2011-12-14 Aaron and Abe

Out Now: Episode 37 – The Descendants and Award Contenders Talk

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is very focused on the awards season. Aaron and Abe are joined by the creative mind behind AwardContenders.com, Mark Johnson, to both provide a review for the new George Clooney/Alexander Payne film, The Descendants, as well as engage in a discussion about the various films that have the potential to be up for major film awards. While Abe had to leave part of the way through this discussion, Mark and Aaron continued on to go over all of the major categories and the potential big players, predictions, and desires. In addition to this special awards talk and the movie review, the regular segments are still present as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk, box office results, and retro reviews.

2011-12-07 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 36 - The Muppets and Hugo

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe focuses on the nostalgic double feature that was The Muppets and Hugo, both of which came out over Thanksgiving weekend. Joining Aaron and Abe to discuss these features are guests Mark Hobin and Matt Dunbar. Given the depressing nature of the art house and independent films featured in last week’s fun, but obscure episode, talking about the fun and sincerity of The Muppets and Hugo is certainly a fun way to get things back in the fun zone. People should note the use of plenty of familiar Muppet tunes laced throughout this episode as well. Of course along with the main film reviews, other segments returns as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk, box office results and predictions, retro reviews, games, and other fun stuff.

Out Now with Aaron and Abe: Special Episode - Art House/Indie Showcase 2011 Spectacular

This week’s special episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is jam packed with film discussion and guests! Given that neither Aaron nor Abe had much desire to go in depth in discussing Twilight or Happy Feet 2, a decision was made to discuss many of the recent Art House/Independent films that have come to theaters this fall. To help the duo in this discussion, Mark Hobin, Adam Gentry, Mark Johnson, and Gerard Iribe all join in to provide their perspectives. The films discussed include Melancholia, Martha Marcy May Marlene, Take Shelter, Margin Call, Like Crazy, The Devil’s Double, and The Skin I Live In, with mention to several other films as well. And even with all that, there was still time to include a few of the regular segments including “Know Everybody” and Trailer Talk.

Out Now Ep. 35 - Immortals

You down with OTT? This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe goes Over The Top, as the duo discusses the Greek Myth action film Immortals from visionary director Tarsem Singh. Joining Aaron and Abe is Why So Blu writer/reviewer/editor Gerard Iribe, who helps discuss the important things about Immortals, such as the visuals, the “story”, Mickey Rourke, and Freida Pinto’s possible body double. This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features another packed schedule. Guests Scott Mendelson and Matt Dunbar return to the show to help Aaron and Abe discuss whether or not A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas will become the Christmas classic some may have been hoping for and also to determine whether or not Brett Ratner’s Tower Heist is worthy of being the most mildly praised movie of the year. The regular segments of the show wrap around these movie reviews as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk (21 Jump Street and American Reunion), an extended box office segment thanks to the presence of Mr. Mendelson, retro reviews, games, and some other fun stuff.

2011-11-09 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 33 - In Time, The Rum Diary, and Puss in Boots

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe is a triple threat, both in terms the number of participants and the number of films covered in our main review section. Adam Gentry joins the duo in an effort to cover the three big releases from the weekend, which includes the sci-fi adventure In Time, the Hunter S. Thompson adventure The Rum Diary, and the fairy tale adventure Puss in Boots. Certainly an episode packed with content and there are still the regular segments of the show as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk (The Darkest Hour and The Lorax), retro reviews, box office results and predictions, and a little game time as well.

2011-11-02 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Bonus Episode – Audio Commentary for John Carpenter’s The Thing

Based on the love and praise Aaron, Jordan Grout, and Alan Aguilera have for John Carpenter’s The Thing, along with Abe’s newfound love and respect for The Thing, the gang decided to do their first audio commentary for that film. Simple enough to enjoy, the gang even has a brief intro to properly explain how to synch the film with the podcast. So if interested, sit back with your copy of The Thing and listen to a bunch of guys chat about it. And stay tuned to the end, if you want to learn the secret word.

Out Now Ep. 32 - Paranormal Activity 3

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe features a discussion about the currently annual Halloween installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise. This third entry of the series gives the group plenty to talk about, as Aaron and Abe, along with guests Mark Hobin and James Plunkett, delve into the particulars involving how fresh or old/entertaining or not this series feels. The other segments are still a part of this episode as well, including “know everybody”, trailer talk (The Devil Inside and Young Adult), box office results and predictions, retro reviews, and a brand new game.

2011-10-26 Aaron and Abe

Out Now Ep. 31 – The Thing

This week’s episode of Out Now with Aaron and Abe re-discovers why man is the warmest place to hide. Of course that refers to the 1982 horror classic, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and what better way to discuss it than by reviewing the new prequel/remake of the film, also titled The Thing…well I can think of another way to discuss it, but that’s something that will be revealed later on in the week. For now, this week’s episode features Aaron and Abe, along with special guests Jordan Grout and Alan Aguilera discussing The Thing, along with participating in the rest of the standard segments, including “know everybody”, trailer talk (The Avengers and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), box office results and predictions, retro reviews, and some games.

2011-10-19 Aaron and Abe

Out Now 21 - Rise of the Planet of the Apes

“I love you Dr. Zaius”. Alright, this week’s episode features Aaron, Abe, and special guest Alan Aguilera (back again, two weeks in a row) for another Triple A episode, as the group discusses Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The latest entry in the Planet of the Apes franchise, which serves as a restart to the series continuity and stars James Franco as the lead human character and Andy Serkis as the lead non-human (motion-capture work for Caesar). Along with the main review of the film, as usual, several segments surround this area, as the gang gets to know each other with some random film questions and discusses some new trailers (In Time and Contagion). Additionally, following the review, as per usual, there is box office talk and predictions, a retro review segment, and the return of some old games.

2011-08-10 Aaron and Abe

Out Now 17 - Transformers: Dark of the Moon

This week on Out Now with Aaron and Abe, the boys delve into the Giant ‘Effin Robots movie that the world has been waiting for. Of course this is in reference to Michael “Boom Boom” Bay’s newest film, Transformers:Dark of the Moon. This is the third film in the Transformers franchise and do to the epic scale of this feature, Aaron and Abe get help from returning guests, Alan Aguilera and Jordan Grout (Damn Dirty Blog). Between these four, almost everything related to this Michael Bay franchise is covered. Naturally, the regular segments of Out Now are still a part of the show; trailers are covered (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and War Horse), box office results and predictions are spoken of, retro reviews lead to more giant robot and explosions discussion, and then some fun games are played as well. Certainly a lot going on in this episode.
